Oforikrom MCE Urges Crime Victims, Residents To Report Cases For Right Measures Institution

Municipal Chief Executive for the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly, Hon. Abraham Kwame Antwi has urged crime victims and residents in general in his jurisdiction to report crime cases to the police and the Assembly.

Speaking on Opemsuo Radio’s Nkwantananso Show with Agudey, the MCE said, the information sharing will enable the assembly to institute the right measures in tackling the issue.

According to him, security is very crucial in any human settlement and is best acted on in dealing with perpetrators when there is valid information. However, his residents fail to report cases to the appropriate authority to deal with these unscrupulous individuals but rather go around warranting the issue which does not help in arresting the situation.

Hon. Kwame Antwi instilled that it is against this background that the Assembly set up the Community Watch Team (Volunteers) in subsidizing the efforts of the police but the initiative has become inactive with only three members at the moment due to the lack of commitment toward the payment of tokens or contributions in supporting the Watch Team’s security expedition.

This is part of the many security measures rolled out by the Assembly, he added.
