NSA Opens Application for Defaulters, Private Candidates, Foreign-Trained Graduates 

The National Service Authority (NSA) has opened applications for PIN Codes for defaulters, private candidates, and foreign-trained graduates who missed national service in previous years.

The window applies to the 2026/2027 service year and is targeted at Ghanaian citizens who completed tertiary education but were unable to enrol for national service previously, as well as Ghanaians who studied abroad.

How to Apply
Applicants are to visit gnsa.gov.gh and follow these steps,  Click on “Apply for PIN Code” and complete the online application form and then upload documents including a letter requesting a PIN Code or reactivation of PIN Code, addressed to the Director-General of the NSA; Letter of attestation or introductory letter from the institution attended; certified true copy of school certificate and original academic transcript, or original copy of academic transcript; Copy of Ghana Card; and copy of student ID.

Foreign-trained applicants are to have a copy of their passports.

All applicants are further required to pay GHS 50.00 as a processing fee online.

After completing the online application, candidates must submit original copies of the listed documents to the NSA Head Office or the Regional Office in their region for verification.

Submissions can be made between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on working days, excluding weekends and public holidays.

The NSA reminded the public that under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), every Ghanaian citizen who has completed a course of study at a tertiary education institution is mandated to undertake national service.

The Authority urged all eligible persons who missed previous service years to take advantage of the window to regularise their status.
