The Ministry of Health has announced that the Japan International Agency (JICA) has given out some medical equipment to the Ministry to help in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The equipment included ventilators, vital signs monitors, bedside monitors, volumetric pumps, and syringe pumps.

It also included PPE such as coveralls, gloves, gowns, head covers and training equipment for intubation, cannulation, trauma, obstetrics and gynaecology and anatomy models.

They were presented to the Deputy Minister for Health Hon. Mahama Asei Seini by a senior representative at JICA, Ms Maki Ozawa, the ministry said.

The donation is meant to strengthen the almost 50 years of partnership with the Government of Ghana and to also justify Ghana’s position as JICA’s biggest portfolio beneficiary for Health within the West Africa Sub-region.

Asei Seini assured the JICA that the Items will be distributed to the Teaching Hospitals and the National Ambulance Service and will be put to good use.
