Kotoko Get Baba Yahaya On 3-year Deal

The Asante Kotoko Sporting Club (SC) has confirmed Baba Yahaya as a Porcupine Warrior.

The 88-year-old club will keep the midfielder on a three-year deal after securing him from neighbouring rivals King Faisal.

The 21-year adds up to the tall list of players the Club has signed in the past three weeks since the reappointment of Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.

He is the Club’s third midfielder signed this season after Andrews Ntim and Bernard Somuah.

“We’re excited to confirm the signing of attacking midfielder, Baba Yahaya on a three-year deal,” Kotoko confirmed.

“Comfortable on playing from either of the flanks as well as operating as a number 10, he scored five goals, making five assists and won the man of the match awards on five occasions during last season’s campaign with city rivals, King Faisal FC.”

Yahaya told the Club’s media he is excited about the move.

“I feel honoured to finally be here. I have been dreaming of this day. I believe that sometimes, in life, the voice of the people is the voice of God. I thank whoever was involved in making this happen.

“I am more than ready to put on the shirt and get started. I understand the responsibilities that come with this, and I am ready to face it with hard work.”
