Beneficiaries of Otumfuo Smart Labs to Rep Ghana at International Tech Competition

Beneficiaries of Smart laboratory initiatives spearheaded by the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation (OOTIIF) and partners have advanced to the 2025 VIQRC Mix & Match – The London Tea Party international robotics challenge for Elementary and Middle School students in the United Kingdom (UK).

It comes after three illustrious students of Kona D/A Basic School won the Tech category of the 2025 Ghana Robotic Competition held in Accra.

At the last Awukudae festival at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on December 3, 2025, the Chairman of the Otumfuo Foundation, Oheneba Boachie-Adjei Woahene II, introduced the students to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

They included 13-year-old Austin Osei Okrah, a JHS 3 student, 14-year-old Godfred Ofori, a JHS 3 student and 10-year-old Victoria Tabi Boakye, a Class Five student.

They are said to have prepared for the competition in less than a week.

Otumfuo was further informed of how one of the smart labs was installed at their school in 2024 through the partnership of Newmont Africa and Coral Reef Africa.

He stated that two other such labs have been installed at Wioso and Toase, driving access to Artificial Intelligence, robotics, coding and digital literacy skills training.
