Ghana Police Sorry for Heavy Traffic
The Ghana Police Service has conveyed their heartfelt apology to commuters for gridlock on the Accra-Ofankor stretch of the N6 Highway which was provoked by a passing out ceremony by the police on Thursday.
The Police Service held their Course 52 Cadet Officers’ Graduation Ceremony at the National Police Training School (NPTS) at Tesano in Accra compounding the daily grievance of commuters on the stretch as a result of ongoing construction works.
The situation left some commuters with the sole option of strolling home.
In a press statement, the police said, “The Ghana Police Service has taken notice of the traffic situation that occurred yesterday, 22nd November 2023, on the Accra-Ofankor stretch of the N6 Highway, due to the Course 52 Cadet Officers’ Graduation Ceremony at the National Police Training School (NPTS), Tesano, Accra, which inconvenienced the commuting public and other road users.”
It then apologized for the inconvenience they fashioned promising to do better next time.
“The Inspector-General of Police and the entire Ghana Police Service wish to sincerely apologize to the public for the traffic congestion.
“We would like to assure you that we have learnt the relevant lessons and will improve our management of traffic for similar ever going forward.”
