Thomas Partey Likely to Leave Arsenal

Ghana international, Thomas Partey is likely to leave Arsenal as a free agent as reports suggest he has failed to reach an agreement with the club.

His contract is set to end in June 2025.

According to sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, no improvements have been made despite several rounds of talks.

“Thomas Partey could 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞 Arsenal as a free agent, new deal 𝐧𝐨𝐭 agreed yet. Despite several rounds of talks, no agreement so far as Arsenal and Partey could part ways later this month.”

He further disclosed that the midfielder has started exploring options as a free agent with several clubs already keen on signing him.

Partey, in a recent interview said he had set priorities, putting his family atop in future commitments to any club.

The father of one intends to now pursue football differently, balancing his career and his family.

“At this stage of my career, my next move must balance ambition, family, and security. I’m an Arsenal fan too, but it’s up to the club, my agent, and me to decide. For now, I just want to enjoy my football,” he told 3Sports.

Arsenal was negotiating with the Ghanaian for a potential contract extension as his contract will expire at the end of the month.

Having established himself as a lynchpin, the EPL side was bent on keeping the 31-year-old.

The Ghanaian was reported to be on the radar of Atlético Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, and clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Partey in the just-ended season made 52 appearances in all competitions for Mikel Arteta’s side.

The player has carved a niche for himself in the EPL, dominating opponents with his tough tackling, authority on the ball and passing range.
