Fufu Pounders Association Threatens To Strike Over Low Wages

The Association of Fufu Pounders in the Central Region of Ghana has threatened to embark on a strike.

The strike action is in view of low wages, it revealed.

According to the Association, its members earn as low as GHc15 each day after working throughout the day.

“The job is tedious but the wage is low. We can embark on a strike if this persists. People tend to label us as lazy if we don’t work, however, when we work, we don’t earn anything”, a member of the Association told the media.

The association is thus seeking for their wages to be increased to at least GHc40.
