Police Provide Update On Officer Who Was Critically Injured In Sampa Violence
According to the Ghana Police Service, the officer who was critically injured in the course of his duty in Sampa in the Bono Region is responding to treatment.
The officer is currently on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he was referred after initial assessment by Sampa Government Hospital.
A statement by the police on Tuesday said he was in a stable condition.
“The officer is in a stable condition, and he is responding to treatment.”
It also reported the visit of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno to the officer on October 7, 2025.
The officer, together with seven others sustained varying degrees of injuries when the Police vehicle in which they were travelling got caught up in an exchange of gunfire between two rival groups at Sampa and veered off the road into a ditch on Sunday, October 3, 2025.
The seven injured officers were treated and discharged.
It affirmed that no officer lost his life during the attack as being speculated in a section of the media.
