Energy Minister Meets Downstream Petroleum Stakeholders to Discuss Sector Reforms

The Minister for Energy, John Jinapor, has met with chief executives and key stakeholders in Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.

At an exclusive breakfast meeting hosted by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) on May 18, 2026, discussions centred on ongoing policy reforms, industry growth, challenges, and collaborative strategies aimed at strengthening the sector for the benefit of consumers and industry players.

Jinapor commended stakeholders for their continued partnership with the government and their commitment to ensuring stability and progress within the downstream petroleum industry.

“The discussions were insightful, constructive, and reaffirmed our shared commitment to building a resilient and forward-looking downstream petroleum sector for Ghana,” the Minister said.

The meeting brought together CEOs and industry leaders to align on priorities for the sector as the government advances reforms targeted at improving efficiency, investment, and supply security.

The downstream petroleum sector covers the refining, distribution, and marketing of petroleum products in Ghana.
