W/R: Driver, Security Guard Transporting Gold Concentrate Fingered in Armed Robbery Attack

The driver and security guard transporting gold concentrate from a mining site that came under armed robbery attack have been arrested.
In the robbery attack on the Toyota Hilux pickup with registration number GT 7426-23 heading towards Wassa Akropong on July 15, the police said the robbers made away with the gold concentrate.
However, the swift response by officers led to the arrest of suspect Foster Peprah at the scene. He is said to have named one Isaac as his accomplice, and the driver of the vehicle, identified as Kofi Gyamfi, is their hirer.
“Kofi Gyamfi was later arrested, and he named Bashiru, the security guard, as the originator of the plan. Bashiru was subsequently arrested at his hideout in Wassa Gyedua,” a police statement confirmed.
It added, “All three suspects are currently in Police custody assisting investigations, while efforts are underway to arrest suspect Isaac, who is currently on the run.”
