Dr. Akoto Afriyie’s Efforts Saved Ghana from Famine – Dr. Amuzu

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Dr. Akoto Afriyie’s campaign team, Dr. Prince Amuzu, has attributed Ghana’s freedom from famine during the COVID-19 period to the diligent efforts of Dr. Akoto Afriyie, the former Minister for Agriculture.

“People can attest to it because even when food was scarce elsewhere during Covid-19 and the Russian-Ukraine war, Ghana had food in abundance,” he said in an interview on Nkwantannanso with Agudey on June 19 .

He emphasized that Ghana is currently experiencing an abundance of diverse food varieties as a result of the pragmatic measures implemented by the former Agriculture Minister.

“Ghana witnessed its highest agricultural growth under the leadership of Dr. Akoto Afriyie.”

He further said that Dr. Akoto Afriyie has filed his nomination forms at the party’s headquarters at Asylum Down, Accra today, June 19, 2023.

Dr Akoto Afriyie is the third aspiring candidate to do so, following former Minister for Trade and Industry Alan Kyerematen and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who submitted their forms on June 12 and June 16 respectively.
