British High commissioner Calls For Use Of Improved Fuel In Ghana

The British High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson has called for the adoption of improved fuel other than charcoal in the country.

This call comes after her visit to the Upper West region of Ghana.

In a tweet, she described the region as “beautifully green”.

“Upper West is beautifully green at this time of year…”

However, she fears that will not remain with the region, looking at the fact that it is one of the country’s major sources of charcoal for fuel.

She thus alluded to an improved fuel for and in the country to protect the green vegetation in the region.

“…But it won’t stay that way as long as charcoal is the main cooking fuel. What are the alternatives, how can fuel efficiency be improved?”.
