Akufo-Addo Tours Ashanti Region

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has begun a four-day working visit to the Ashanti region of Ghana.

His tour began yesterday, October 16 and continues today through to Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

On Sunday, the president called on Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III at the Manhyia Palace after joining the St. Cyprian Anglican Church in the Subin Constituency to fellowship.

From there, he inspected the project site for the Boankra Inland Port, an Agenda 111 Hospital Project at Kokoben and then commissioned the Konongo Municipal Hospital at Asante Akyem Central Constituency and the 30kv Kumasi-Bolgatanga Transmission line.

Today, he is expected to grant a radio interview, and commission a residential complex for Appeals Court Judges at Nhyiaeso and the Toase Magistrate Court in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency.

Among the projects the president will be inspecting include the Central Market Phase II Project and the Maternal and Children’s Block Project at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

President Akufo-Addo will on Tuesday meet with the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) and Security Officers at the Headquarters of the Central Command (IDRIS Barracks) and then commission a Maize Processing Factory in the Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo constituency.

He will also inspect an Agenda 111 project at Nsuta and cut sod for the construction of the Suame Interchange in Kumasi.

Among the projects, the President will inspect on the last day of his tour include the Santasi-Apire road, an agenda 111 project at Trede, the Anwia Nkwanta-Obuasi Road Project and the Trauma and Accident Hospital at Obuasi.

He will then attend the final passage rites of Nana Nyarko Aboraa II, Manso Nkwantahemaa.
