Accra Academy Hands Student Who Flogged Others With Cutlass to Police
Accra Academy has handed over to the police, the student who was captured in a viral video flogging fellow students with a cutlass.
In a statement, the management of the school identified the perpetrators as Shadad Aliu a.k.a. Kester (IVA 1), Haleem Jibril a.k.a Chopper (3Bus 5), Ahmed Dauda, a.k.a Foreigner (3GA 5), and Richard Ninsin a.k.a Poisonous (3GA 5)- all day students- while – the victims were identified as Samuel Ussher (ISc 10), Kingsford Quayson (ISc10), Stephen Oteng (I Sc 10), and Dominic Awuku Adjei (1GA2).
It said preliminary investigation revealed that the matchet used by the boys was brought from their home and not taken from the school.
It noted that the incident transpired on the blindside of the authorities on January 17, 2024, and only came to their notice recently.
“We have identified all the students involved, and their parents have been contacted. Some of the parents have responded, and their statements have been taken. The students who perpetrated the act have been handed over to the police for further interrogation,” it said, adding that the School’s disciplinary committee is investigating the incident.
It has assured that the outcome of the investigations will be made available to all stakeholders.
Meanwhile, all the implicated students have been asked to stay away from the school pending further investigation.
