Cook-a-thon: Failatu Reaches 202 Hours
Chef Abdul Razak Failatu has completed eight days of cooking since the beginning of an attempt to set a new record for the longest cooking marathon.
She aims to scribe her name in the books of the Guinness World Record (GWR) and create awareness about her restaurant based in Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana to the world.
The chef has amazed Ghanaians with her strength and energy despite the long hours she’s spent on her feet cooking different sumptuous and finger-licking delicacies.
After advertising a 5-day marathon, she was forced to extend it to ten after a Ugandan chef finished 144 hours, seven minutes and 24 seconds of cooking yet to be certified by the GWR.
She started on January 1 and intends to break the 119 hours 57 minutes record by Alan Fisher, an Irish Chef based in Japan.
She is on her ninth day and has done 202 hours of cooking as of 10 am on January 9, 2024. She continues to receive the support of her husband and many Ghanaians.
