BET Awards: Ghana’s Hope Dashed As Camidoh Misses Award

The 2023 edition of BET ended last night without any award for Ghana after the only Ghanaian nominee missed out on his nomination.

Camidoh was nominated for Viewer’s Choice for the Best International Act category but the award was won by Cameroonian singer Libianca Fonji.

The Best New International Act is an award presented by BET Awards, to honour prominent international artists from around the world yearly. It was first presented to Sho Madjozi in 2019.

This year’s had ASAKE {NIGERIA}, Maureen {FRANCE}, RayeE {UK}, Camidoh {GHANA}, MC Ryan SP {BRAZIL}, Werenoi {FRANCE}, Flo {UK} and Pabi Cooper {SOUTH AFRICA} nominated.

Burna Boy projected Africa at the event at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles when he won the International Collaboration of the Year.

The event saw the best performances in music, TV, film and sports in twenty-one categories honoured.
