Boamanghemaa Vows to Prioritise Community Development
Oheneyere Nana Akua Pokuaa, the esteemed Queenmother of Boamang Traditional Area, has unequivocally declared her commitment to spearheading the development of Boamang. Her resolute dedication was expressed during the highly anticipated “Boamang 2023 Home Coming Launching” event, held at the heart of the Boamang Community, aptly named “Boamang Ne Afigya Nkosuo.”
During the grand occasion, Oheneyere Nana Akua Pokuaa took a momentous step by announcing the establishment of an “Education Fund” aimed at promoting equal educational opportunities, with a particular focus on information and communication technology (ICT).
The fund’s primary objective is to empower the youth with digital skills and equip them for the challenges of the modern world.
“We believe that education is the key to unlocking the full potential of our community’s youth. By providing them with access to quality ICT education, we are equipping them with the tools to succeed in the digital age,” she emphasised.
In her inspiring address, Boamanghemaa unveiled ambitious plans for the construction of a cutting-edge ICT facility, aptly named the “Boamang ne Afigya ICT and Library Complex,” as an integral part of the Boamang 2023 Homecoming project.
This state-of-the-art complex will serve as a centre of learning, fostering technological innovation and academic excellence in the Boamang Traditional Area.
“The Boamang ne Afigya ICT and Library Complex will revolutionise the education landscape in Boamang, empowering our students with digital literacy and enabling them to compete globally,” passionately stated Pastor Godfred Asakpam, the respected Chairman of the Planning Committee for Boamang 2023 Homecoming and a prominent member of the First Baptist Church in Boamang.
The event showcased a remarkable gathering of traditional leaders, esteemed political figures, government officials, revered religious leaders, and enthusiastic social groups. This collective presence underscored the unwavering support and collaborative efforts required for the successful development of Boamang and Afigya.
“We humbly implore our brothers and sisters in the diaspora to lend their support and contribute to the growth and progress of Boamang. Together, we can build a brighter future for our community,” appealed Pastor Asakpam, emphasizing the need for diaspora support.
