Promising Ghanaian-Born Boxer Now A Successful Poultry Farmer

Francis Ampofo was doing well in boxing when he left Ghana for the United Kingdom, within one year.

In a report filed by BBC, the Ghanaian said he learnt how to box for self-defence but became a British champion in the process winning a championship belt and earning for himself the nickname “The Pocket Battleship”.

However, his passion was poultry farming.

According to him, his passion for that was birthed while he stayed at Ash-town in Kumasi in Ashanti region of Ghana with his grandmother who owned a handful of fouls.

“In the house, we had maybe six or seven chickens and they had a little coop where I would go and make sure I clean all up, get all the eggs out and give it to my nan”, he recalled.

Now Francis says his layers produce more than 2,500 eggs each day.

He plans to expand his farm further.
