People Of Matwinisi Community Lament Over An Abandoned School
The residents of Matwinisi community in the Sekyere South District in the Ashanti Region have expressed their unhappiness over an abandoned school in the area.
Speaking to Opemsuo reporters, the citizens made known some vital problems they are facing in the community.
According to them, electricity and water are their major challenge.
Citizens also spoke out against an agreement struck by the government with farmers. Farmers who grow trees would receive 40% of the total, but some people have been taking down the trees without their knowing.
The children of Matwinisi community walk 3 miles to school every day, according to Nana Yaw Adu Gyamfi, the Chief of Matwinisi.
In addition, the chief stated that they do not have toilet facilities and that they have electricity problems.
As a result, he urged the government to assist them.
