Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III Was Universally Accommodating

Among the countless virtues of the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III, Asantehemaa, was her accommodating nature towards people from all walks of life.
Such people often sought her counsel and blessings, which she readily offered.
Her Majesty, as the traditional head of women’s affairs in the Asante Kingdom, opened her doors particularly to the many women who frequented her Palace.
The Asantehemaa was also hardworking without ostentation, humble despite her elevated position and unassuming in her greatness.
These were not merely ceremonial virtues but lived realities that shaped every interaction and decision throughout her reign.
Brief Profile
Nana Konadu YIADOM III, born as Nana Ama Konadu in 1927 at the sacred Benyaade Shrine in Merdan, a small town in Kwadaso, Kumasi, entered the world during the critical period of the Asante Confederacy’s restoration.
Her birth itself seemed prophetic, occurring at a shrine that would later symbolise the spiritual foundation of her remarkable journey to the apex of Asante traditional authority.
She was the first child of the 13th Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, who reigned as Asantehemaa from 1977 to 2016.
