NCC, NFA to Strengthen Collaboration to Promote Film Education Across Regions

The National Commission on Culture (NCC) and the National Film Authority (NFA) are set to strengthen collaboration to promote film education, screenings and related activities across Ghana’s regions.
Under the proposed collaboration, the NFA will utilise auditoriums at the Regional Centres for National Culture as platforms for film workshops, screenings and other film-related activities.
The initiative is expected to provide opportunities for filmmakers, young creatives, audiences and other stakeholders to engage with Ghana’s film industry while promoting the country’s rich cultural heritage and stories.
The Executive Director of the National Commission on Culture, Mr Wakefield Ackuaku, has pledged the Commission’s full support for the partnership and emphasised the importance of making effective use of the Commission’s facilities to advance Ghanaian culture and creativity.
“The Commission is ready to open its doors. Our auditoriums across the country are national assets, and this partnership will ensure they are put to effective use to promote Ghanaian film and culture,” Mr Ackuaku stated.
He made this known on September 29, 2026, during an inspection tour of the auditorium facilities at the Greater Accra Regional Centre for National Culture.
Also present was the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority, Madam Kafui Danku, who is leading the NFA’s engagement towards the partnership. She expressed the Authority’s commitment to working with the NCC to bring film activities closer to communities across the regions.
The inspection tour, which commenced at the Accra Arts Centre, is expected to continue across the various Regional Centres for National Culture to assess the state and suitability of the facilities ahead of the rollout of the proposed joint activities.
