KMA Engages Transport Unions To Build Safer Transport System For Kumasi

The Management of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has engaged leaders of 24 registered transport unions in the metropolis to discuss practical measures to make transportation in Kumasi safer, more organised and efficient.

The engagement focused on traffic congestion, terminal management, indiscriminate loading, destination indicators, road safety and enforcement of transport regulations.

Speaking on behalf of the Mayor, the Metro Coordinating Director, Mr Francis Dwira Darko, emphasised the importance of continuous engagement with transport operators to identify challenges and find practical solutions.

The Head of KMA’s Transport Department, Mr Randy Wilson, reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to sanitising the transport sector.

The Regional Director of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), Mr Kwasi Agyenim Boateng, urged operators to prioritise compliance with road safety regulations to help save lives.

According to the Assembly, a safer and more efficient transport system requires collective effort, adding that KMA and transport stakeholders remain committed to working together to improve mobility and enhance the daily experience of commuters across Kumasi.
