A/R: See Areas to Experience 6-hour Power Outage on Wednesday

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that it will undertake planned maintenance works in parts of the Ashanti Region to improve service delivery.

The exercise will take place on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will result in a temporary power outage in the affected areas.

The affected communities are Ayanfuri, Gyaman, Nkotumso, Brofoyedru, Bremang, Dominase, Abrah, Anwiawia, Besease, Treposo and surrounding areas.

According to ECG, the maintenance is necessary to enhance the reliability and efficiency of its power distribution network.

“ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the company said in a notice issued on Monday, 24th August, 2026.

Customers in the affected areas have been advised to take note and plan accordingly.
