Special Help Desk Opened to Correct Biodata Mismatches for Prospective National Service Personnel

The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced plans to set up a dedicated help desk to assist prospective National Service Personnel facing biodata discrepancies between their Ghana Card details and class lists submitted by tertiary institutions.

In a press release dated August 18, 2026, the Authority said the intervention is aimed at ensuring that the biodata of service personnel is accurate and consistent across official records, and to ease the enrollment process for affected graduates.

From Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., the NSA Headquarters at 46 Patrice Lumumba Road, Airport Residential Area, will host officials from the National Identification Authority (NIA) and the Ghana Publishing Company to provide on-site support.

According to the NSA, personnel whose details do not match should visit the Special Registration Help Desk at NSA Headquarters.

If the discrepancy originates from the Ghana Card, affected personnel will be directed to the NIA special desk for correction or update, and if the correction requires a name to be officially gazetted, the Ghana Publishing Company special desk will provide emergency gazette services to complete the process, after which the changes can be effected in NSA records.

The NSA explained that mismatches occur when details held by a tertiary institution do not align with information on the Ghana Card. Common causes include spelling discrepancies and differences in name order, omission of a name from either the Ghana Card or class list, incorrect date of birth submitted by the institution or recorded on the Ghana Card, failure to update institutional records after a change to Ghana Card details, typographical, transcription or data-entry errors, and use of maiden, married, abbreviated or alternative names across records.

The Authority urged all affected personnel to take advantage of the opportunity to regularise their documentation to avoid delays in National Service registration, validation, deployment and payment of allowances.

It also advised educational institutions to exercise due diligence in verifying students’ biodata before submitting class lists to the NSA, stressing that accurate institutional data is essential for a smooth service experience.
