Cyber Security Authority and EY Ghana Resolve Regulatory Dispute Over Licensing

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) and Ernst & Young Ghana, EY Ghana, have resolved regulatory issues concerning licensing requirements for the provision of cybersecurity services.

In a joint press release, the two institutions said they have had constructive engagement on matters relating to licensing requirements, fees and administrative processes.

“The parties have undertaken discussions and taken steps to clarify and address matters relating to licence fees and the associated administrative requirements. Subsequently, regulatory issues between the CSA and EY Ghana have been satisfactorily resolved,” the statement said.

The CSA and EY Ghana said they value the constructive and collaborative approach that led to the resolution, and both parties remain committed to supporting Ghana’s cybersecurity regulatory framework.

The Cyber Security Authority reiterated that its objective is not only to enforce compliance but also to support organisations in understanding and meeting their regulatory obligations.

“The CSA remains committed to building a secure, resilient and trusted digital ecosystem through effective regulation, responsible industry participation and strong enforcement of Ghana’s cybersecurity laws,” the statement added.

It comes after the CSA imposed an administrative penalty of GH¢360,000 on EY Ghana for providing cybersecurity services without a valid Cybersecurity Service Provider licence.
