Defence Ministry Welcomes New Minister Kenneth Gilbert Adjei With Guard of Honour

The Ministry of Defence has officially welcomed its newly appointed Minister, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, on his first day in office following his assumption of duty as the substantive Minister.

As part of activities to formally receive him, a Guard of Honour was mounted at the Ministry to mark his arrival.

The Minister subsequently exchanged pleasantries with management and staff of the Ministry.

Among those present were the Chief Director, Mr Emmanuel Kartey, the Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General William Agyapong, and the Service Chiefs.

The ceremony provided an opportunity for Hon. Adjei to formally interact with officials and staff as he began his tenure.

The Ministry noted that the warm reception reflected its commitment to working collaboratively with the new Minister in the discharge of his mandate to oversee the country’s defence and security operations.

He substantively replaces Edward Omane Boamah who operished alongside seven others in a helicpter crash on August 6, 2025.
