A/R: ECG Announces Planned Power Outage on Tuesday

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance works in the Ashanti Region that will result in a temporary power outage on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

According to notices released by the company, the maintenance is aimed at improving service delivery across the region.

The outage will take place from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and will affect customers in Akorem, part of Aboabo, Pencil Factory, Dagomba Line, Oforikrom STC yard, Kotoko Cinema, Antoa Presby, Mamponteng, Dwumanafo, Aboaso, Hemang, Ankaase, Mpobi, Kona, part of Agona, and surrounding areas.

ECG said the works are necessary to enhance the reliability of power supply and regretted the inconvenience that will arise out of the exercise.

Residents and businesses in the affected communities have been advised to take the necessary precautions during the period.
