Police Arrest Man Seen in Viral Video Assaulting Suspect

The Ghana Police Service has arrested Sibamay Zakaria, the man captured in a viral video assaulting a suspect.

According to the Service, he is currently in custody, assisting with investigations, and will be brought before the court.

Meanwhile, the Police Professional Standards Bureau has commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Service said all persons found culpable will be taken through the necessary disciplinary processes.

In a viral video, the muslim man identified as a cleric was captured slapping the suspect, whose arrest followed his derogatory comments about Prophet Mohammed.
