National Service Authority Opens Registration for 2026/2027 Service Year
The National Service Authority has released PIN codes for 121,754 prospective National Service Personnel for the 2026/2027 service year, officially opening registration for eligible graduates from accredited tertiary institutions across the country.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, and signed by the Director-General, Ruth Dela Seddoh, the Authority said the release marks the start of the registration process under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119).
According to the NSA, a total of 144,023 personnel were submitted by tertiary institutions for consideration.
Out of that number, 122,712 were approved, with 121,754 unique records created and PIN codes issued, while 958 were approved but not promoted pending further verification.
Another 21,311 submissions have been withheld pending further identity verification.
The Authority explained that rigorous validation and verification processes were carried out in collaboration with relevant regulatory bodies to ensure only eligible graduates from accredited institutions were mobilised, as part of efforts to promote transparency, accountability and data integrity and to eliminate duplicate, inflated and irregular submissions.
The online registration window will run from Wednesday, August 12 to Wednesday, August 26, 2026, and all eligible prospective personnel have been urged to complete the process within the period to avoid delays in deployment.
Prospective service personnel are required to visit the Authority’s website at posting.gnsa.gov.gh to access and activate their PIN codes, after which they will pay a registration fee via Mobile Money on all networks before gaining access to the enrolment platform.
To strengthen the integrity and efficiency of the process, the NSA has introduced enhanced measures including facial biometric verification against Ghana Card records with the National Identification Authority, the provision of a valid GhanaPost GPS address to facilitate accurate and proximity-based postings, and real-time verification mechanisms to improve data accuracy and prevent fraudulent enrolments.
In line with the President’s policy to integrate basic military training into the National Service Programme, a selected number of prospective personnel will participate in the next phase of the pre-deployment military orientation programme.
Interested applicants can indicate their willingness during online registration, and participation will not affect their subsequent deployment to user agencies.
Similarly, as part of efforts to promote youth participation in agriculture and support the government’s agenda on food security and agribusiness development, prospective personnel can also opt to join the NSA Agriculture Deployment Programme and, if successful, will be deployed to designated agricultural project sites for the duration of their service.
The NSA also reminded tertiary institutions whose accreditation status remains unresolved to engage the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission to regularise their status to enable the mobilisation of their graduates, adding that it will continue to process eligible graduates upon receipt of confirmation from GTEC.
The Authority further cited Section 29(1) of the National Service Authority Act, 2024, which states that a person qualifies to undertake national service if that person is a Ghanaian citizen and has completed a course of study at a tertiary education institution.
