O/R: 11 Nabbed as Military, Police Recover Gun, Police Uniform and Body Armour

Eleven persons have been arrested at Kromase near Nkwanta in the Oti Region after a dawn swoop by a joint military and police team uncovered weapons and security accoutrements.

The intelligence-led cordon and search operation was carried out in the early hours of Wednesday, August 26, 2026, by personnel of the Ghana Army and the Ghana Police Service.

It was led by the Combat Team Commander, Major Muktar Saani, under Exercise STARLIGHT STRETCH III – an ongoing Ghana Army exercise designed to enhance preparedness against emerging security threats.

The team, acting on intelligence, searched selected premises in an operation that ended around 8:30 a.m.

A pump-action gun, live ammunition, body armour, a locally manufactured ammunition belt and a police uniform were retrieved during the raid.

The suspects, together with the exhibits, have been conveyed to the operational base and are in custody assisting with investigations.
