Deputy Trade Minister To Deliver Mahama’s Keynote At Africa Business Investment Summit In Washington

The Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Sampson Ahi, will today, Thursday, August 27, 2026, deliver President John Dramani Mahama’s keynote address at the Africa Business Investment Summit (ABIS) 2026 in Washington, DC, USA.
Mr Ahi will deliver the address on behalf of the Sector Minister, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, the high-level summit is being held under the distinguished patronage of the Asantehene, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and is organised by the Millennium Excellence Foundation with the Asantehene as Life Patron.
The summit provides a strategic platform to promote Africa’s investment opportunities and strengthen economic partnerships.
Hon. Ahi is expected to highlight Africa’s vast economic potential, Ghana’s growing investment landscape, and opportunities available for global investors seeking partnerships across key sectors of the economy.
The Ministry said the presentation forms part of efforts to attract increased foreign investment into Ghana and the wider African continent by showcasing the continent’s resources, innovation, entrepreneurial potential and commitment to sustainable economic growth.
The two-day summit will bring together policymakers, business leaders, investors and industry stakeholders to deliberate on critical areas including trade, finance, investment, energy, agriculture, tourism, mining and real estate.
ABIS 2026 is expected to serve as a major avenue for dialogue, collaboration and the creation of partnerships aimed at accelerating economic transformation and unlocking new opportunities for businesses across Africa.
The statement noted that with Ghana positioning itself as a gateway to investment in Africa, the summit provides an important opportunity to reinforce the country’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment and attracting strategic investments that support job creation and national development.
