Ghana’s UK Mission Completes Kwame Nkrumah Film Archive Retrieval, Digitisation Project

The Ghana High Commission in London has marked the successful completion of the Kwame Nkrumah Film Archive Retrieval and Digitisation Project.
The project was completed alongside a specialised training programme aimed at strengthening expertise in archival preservation.
The initiative represents an important step towards safeguarding Ghana’s historical audiovisual records, cultural heritage and national identity for future generations.
The Mission commended Rev. Dr Chris Hesse, Dr Rebecca Ohene-Asah, the trainees and the Iron Mountain team for their dedication to preserving Ghana’s history and promoting knowledge transfer through Ghana–UK collaboration.
The project is expected to enhance long-term preservation of rare historical footage linked to Ghana’s first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, and ensure improved access to the nation’s audiovisual heritage.
