Yendi Water Project Will Soon Commence And Be Complete In 30 Months; Minister Assures

The Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Hon Cecilia Abena Dapaah has assured the people of Yendi that the government will soon commence the Yendi water project and complete it within 30 months.

Answering a question on the floor of parliament by Hon, Umar Farouk Aliu Mahama, MP for Yendi, she said, the consultant for the design and construction surpervision- Messrs, WAPCOS of India- has successfully completed the detailed project report and has received approval from the Indian Exim bank.

According to the Minister, procurement of the contractor by close of the first quarter of this year has been successful through prequalification of Engineering and construction.

Additionally, she said works are expected to commence by the second quarter of the year with completion set at 30 months from commencement date.

The Member Parliament for Yendi constituency Hon Umar Farouk Aliu Mahama also assure his constituents that the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is committed to completing the water project within the stipulated time.

He said even though the project has delayed due procurement processes, the minister has given the assurance that ending of march this year the water project will commence.

Mr Umar Farouk Aliu Mahama promised to fellow up until the project comes to realisation.
