We Will Turn Suame Road Into Football Pitch If Not Fixed – Suame Magazine Artisans Vows
Aggrieved Suame-Magazine artisans protested yesterday, Thursday 14 July, 2022 over bad roads in the Municipal which has brought their business to a stand-still.
The protestors were very aggrieved at the Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu for not putting in much effort in terms of development for the constituency.
Abubakar Karim who is one of the leading protestors speaking to the media said, they are not relaxing over the issue after yesterday’s demonstration but will go ahead to turn the Suame main road into a football pitch if they do not hear from the authorities.
He explained that the roads are very bad after having been graded without being tarred has brought about excess dust impeding their business. For this reason, they decided to demonstrate against the government.
Speaking to the media, the Municipal Chief Executive for the Suame Municipality, Hon. Maxwell Ofosu Boakye stated that it is true the road is in a poor state but must let their grievances known legitimately.
According to him, demonstration is legitimate but must be carried out in a peaceful way that does not abuse people’s rights like the way they did blocking the main road and restricting vehicular movement.
He promised that the constructor will come to site possibly Monday to continue with the construction of the road.
