We Will Return Fire for Fire; NPP to NDC

The youth wing of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has committed to retaliating all kinds of attacks against their candidates from their opponents in the lead-up to the election.

This was contained in a press statement reacting to the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s demand for an apology from a senior member of the governing party for calling their Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama a drunkard.

The statement issued by Salam Mustapha, the National Youth Organizer of the NPP said the youth wing of the party was in full support of the statement and kicked against the demand for apology and retraction.

They recognize that their opponents have launched a series of offensives on prominent figures within their camp and therefore deem Samuel Atta Akyea’s remarks as a suitable retaliation.

“He who seeks equity must come with clean hands. The very signee of the press release is more guilty than the MP he seeks to caution. Fifi Kwetey has made far worse disparaging and condescending remarks than this harmless comment. There are too many videos of him insulting the presidential candidate of the NPP Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and even his wife – Hajia Samira Bawumia. We are surprised that he mustered such moral audacity to sign and release such a crap.

“Recently, the national chairman of the NDC in an interview with Evans Mensah on Joy TV called Dr. Bawumia a liar and further inferred that he is an idiot. No one from the NDC has condemned such a stupid and reckless remarks by Asiedu Nketiah, not he Fifi or John Dramani Mahama. They shared the said video with much happiness and praises. We will hold back from saying that he, Asiedu Nketiah is rather the idiot. The only crime Dr. Bawumia committed to warrant such an attack was to call for a debate with the failed John Mahama to test their ideas and promises.”

“Again, John Dramani Mahama himself few days ago called Dr. Bawumia a liar without any apology or reprimand. Now, just a small punch from Hon. Samuel Atta Akyea and they are bleating? I can assure the NDC that we will return fire for fire. Our presidential candidate is a human being too with blood running in his veins just like their demigod that they seek to protect. We will not allow the NDC to turn him into their punching bag.”
