Top Referee Daniel Laryea Tasked to Handle Sunday’s Highly Anticipated Super Clash

Highly-rated referee Daniel Nii Laryea has been appointed by the Referees Committee of the Ghana FA to supervise the much-anticipated Super Clash between the country’s two heavyweights; Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak this weekend in Kumasi.
The 38-year-old is currently one of the fast-rising centre-men on the African continent, becoming the first Ghanaian to referee at the semi-final stage of the AFCON for the first time in fifty-four (54) years.
The elite referee was recently in CAF inter-club competition duty having taken charge of CAF Confederation Cup game that featured South African juggernauts Kaizer Chiefs and Al Masry of Egypt, indicating he is currently on CAF’s favourite list of referees and all these recognitions were earned base on merit and as a result of hard work.
Laryea, will be assisted on the lines by Paul Atimaka and Seth Abletor for the game while Gideon Nii-Cofie will serve as the fourth official.
While the Porcupine Warriors will need this win to claim the bragging rights, redeem themselves and also reignite their league-winning hopes, the Phobians will also head in looking very desperate for a victory as well to end their three-year run of no win in a competitive Super-Clash fixture, with their last coming in 2023.
The second Super-Clash of the 2025/26 season is slated for this Sunday, February 15, at the Baba Yara Stadium at 17:00GMT (5:00pm).
