NCA Puts Off MultiChoice Shutdown For Stakeholder Pricing Evaluation

The National Communications Authority (NCA) has put off plans to shut down MultiChoice Ghana to make way for a planned stakeholder committee engagement.

The 14-day meeting set to begin on September 8, 2025, will evaluate the pricing of DSTV.

In a statement, the Authority said MultiChoice had committed to due process and the laws of Ghana.

“The Authority shall provide further updates on this matter in due course.”

It comes after the Minister for Communications, Sam George, directed the NCA to carry on with the suspension of the licence of MultiChoice Ghana following its failure to reduce prices of DSTV.
