Accra-Tema Shuttle Train Service Resumes Today

The Ghana Railway Company Limited (GRCL) has announced the Accra-Tema shuttle train service will resume work today, July 18, 2022.

The resumption was after the company successfully addressed some technical challenges, it said.

“GRCL conducted a series of test runs and final joint inspection was also carried out on 7th July 2022 by the GRCL and the Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA) to ascertain the suitability of the line to passengers”.

Following the tests and inspections, the GRDA granted the company permit to commence the shuttle service delivery, however, a speed limit of 35km/h has been imposed on trains for the meantime to “enable our technical team to continue addressing any teething problem that may emerge during these early stages of the resumption of shuttle service”.
