Sexual Misconduct: Gender Ministry to Cause Arrest Of Assistant KNUST Headmaster

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has announced plans to cause the arrest of the Assistant Headmaster of KNUST Senior High School, Mr Charles Akwasi Aidoo, after he was allegedly exposed for sexual misconduct.

According to the sector Minister, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, the issue is criminal in nature.

“We have lots of reports on gender-based violence and also child abuse. And because of the position of the ministry, we are able to collaborate with the police anytime such issues come up.

“Of recent is the report of the 13-year-old with the assistant headmaster. So even though GES through the school dismissed or suspended the head, we are collaborating with the police to effect the arrest of the man, the perpetrator,” she is quoted as saying.

The head teacher was interdicted earlier this week after the widespread circulation of a video depicting him inappropriately touching a female student.

He has also been prohibited from going to the school while thorough investigations are carried out.
