Suspicious Aircraft: GACL Denies Providing False Information to Rev Ntim Fordjour

The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has refuted claims that it misinformed the Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament, Rev Ntim Fordjour, about the entry of two “suspicious” aircraft into the country last month.
In a statement, it noted that there hasn’t been any correspondence between the Managing Director, Mrs Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare and Rev. Ntim Fordjour since the latter alleged that the two aircraft transported money and cocaine into the country.
Additionally, the Company noted that Landing permits for all aircraft entering Ghana are issued by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in conjunction with the National Security and not GACL.
With regard to the aircraft in question, GACL said all security checks were conducted by Aviation Security and National Security while ground handling services were conducted by Swissport company for the aircraft that arrived.
It is therefore prepared to sue any individual who drags the name of the company into disrepute with the false narrative.
“Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) hereby serves notice that the company will not hesitate to seek legal redress against any media house, individual or any other entity for any intentional or mischievous publication on Rev. Ntim Fordjour’s false allegations and related matters that seek to bring the image of the company, it’s Managing Director or the government into disrepute regarding the two (2) aircraft.”
It further entreated Ghanaians to disregard “fictitious and malicious” allegations.
Meanwhile, the GACL stated that there was no evidence of any illegal substances on board both aircraft, challenging the opposition party to prove its allegations with evidence.
