Software Architect Nominated to Succeed the Late Mamponghene Daasebre Osei Bonsu II

Leslie Osei Bonsu, a senior software architect and geospatial systems strategist, has been nominated as the next occupant of the Amaniampong Silver Stool.
He was selected from the Botaase Royal Family by the Queen, Nana Agyakoma Difie II, on October 13, 2025, after a rigorous traditional process.
He is expected to be introduced to the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to make way for his enstoolment or otherwise.
The stool was rendered vacant earlier this year when Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, Asante Mamponghene, passed away. His demise occurred while acting as caretaker of the Asante Kingdom while Otumfuo was out of the jurisdiction.
It may be recalled that in July 2025, the Asantehene gave a traditional blueprint for the selection of a suitable successor.
This was after the burial of the late traditional leader in June.
