Social Distancing: Kumasi Mayor goes wild

Kumasi Mayor, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi went beserk threatening to crack the whip on recalcitrant motorists defying the President’s order of social distancing as one of the measures to curb the spreading of the deadly Coronavirus declared pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) killing thousands across the globe
The Mayor who led entourage from the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) touring market centres in the metropolis was unhappy how commercial drivers popular known in the local palance “trotro drivers” are flouting the President’s directive of passanger spacing.
“How dare you to load passengers like sadine?…You people want to tell me that you don’t respect the law and the President?”, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi fumed during his familiarization visit to some drivers’ unions at “Dr Mensa” market enclave and other places.
Commercial buses have decided to reduce the number of passengers they carry per row after meeting with President Akufo-Addo as part of efforts to ensure social distancing in the fight against the Coronavirus outbreak.
“If I don’t see this directive being implemented next time I come, you would not take it kindly from me at all as Mayor of this City and representative of the the President”, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, the Mayor of Kumasi warned
