Short Code Being Developed To Check Number of SIMs Associated With Ghana Card

A shortcode will soon be released by the National Communications Authority (NCA) for verification of the number of sim cards associated with a Ghana card.

The code is expected to be active by the end of April.

The NCA in a brief statement on Facebook communicated the development and noted it was collaborating with telecommunication companies for the code.

With the code, individual subscribers will no longer be required to visit telecommunication companies for the verification.

All one will need to do is enter the shortcode on his/her phone, and after a verification process using the Ghana card pin, the number of SIMs associated with the Ghana card will be displayed, according to the NCA.

“There will be no need for Subscribers to physically go to the Telco to verify same when the shortcode is operational, by the end of April 2023, after the testing has been completed and approved.”
