Sammy Gyamfi’s Marriage Brings Asiedu Nketia, Ofosu Ampofo Together
The marriage ceremony of the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has brought the immediate past and current National Chairpersons of the party together.
Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Samuel Ofosu Ampofo were seated side-by-side at the traditional marriage ceremony which took place on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.
In a press statement on Monday, defeated former Ofosu Ampofo who was seeking reelection said he was praying for recovery from pain and a dented reputation.
Ahead of theNational Congress, audio of the reigning National Chairman of the Party, Asiedu Nketia dissing Ofosu Ampofo went viral.
In the audio, he blamed the former Chairman of the party for the defeat of the party in the 2020 general elections.
“Some people caused that problem. The collation system he (Ofosu Ampofo) gave us broke down after processing results from 5 regions.
“When we decided to go to court, he (Ofosu Ampofo) didn’t give me any useful data to present. That’s why I said I didn’t have our collated results when I was asked in court”, he recounted.
In his statement after his defeat, Ofosu Ampofo noted that the “elections needlessly witnessed the worse form of inner vilification, personal attacks and public injury to the hard-won reputation of our Party through various means of public spaces and on social media platforms”.
But at the private marriage ceremony which was attended by some leaders and members of the NDC including former President John Dramani Mahama, Asiedu Nketia and Ampofo were pictured seated together.
Whereas the former chairman focused on the ceremony, the current had his focus on his mobile phone.
