Robbery Foiled, 3 Dead, 2 In Police Grips

Three notorious armed robbers on police wanted list have been shot dead after a plot to rob a businessman was leaked to the police.
The three are: Akika Christian Robert, Alhassan and Alhaji.
Together with two other accomplices, they stormed a banking area at Opeibea where the businessman had withdrawn money.
According to reports from the police, bullets were exchanged between the police and the gangs after the police, upon intelligence closed in on the robbers.
One of the police officers was shot in the right leg while three of the robbers were gunned down.
The other two, 27-year-old Prosper Koku and 47-year-old Abdul Latif were arrested and are assisting in police investigations.
The police officer who sustained injury is said to be in a stable condition in a hospital while the bodies of the alleged robbers have been deposited at the Police Hospital Morgue.
The Police have warned that they will not spare anyone who crosses their way in their quest to get rid of street, residential and highway robberies.
