Police Seek Public Assistance in Arresting Suspects in Viral Mob Action
The Ghana Police Service has initiated an investigation into a viral mob action, requesting public assistance for arrests.
Three men were captured in viral video assaulting a young man accused of stealing. The video showed the alleged thief tied upside down to a makeshift bamboo goalpost.
“The Ghana Police Service is investigating a viral video in which some men are captured physically assaulting a young man accused of stealing equipment,” it said in a statement.
It directed persons with credible information that could lead to their arrest to divulge to the nearest police station.
“We would like to urge anyone with credible information on the people involved to report to the nearest police station to assist ongoing investigations.”
It further assured the public that the perpetrators will be arrested.
