The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two brothers in connection with the shooting and killing of a 54-year-old man and the injury of his wife at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, near Weija.
In a press release, the Command said the suspects, Adams Adder Almeida and his brother Bala Bilyon, were arrested with assistance from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team, CVET.
Murder
According to the police, the incident occurred on August 6, 2026, when officers from the Weija Division responded to a report that a man and his wife had been shot and wounded at Beach Drive Estate.
At the scene, police found Mohammed Rahman, 54, and his wife Christiana Fosu, 53, with gunshot wounds outside their four-bedroom apartment.
The victims were rushed to Finney Hospital, Weija, where Mohammed Rahman was pronounced dead on arrival.
His wife, Christiana Fosu, was referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for further treatment and is currently on admission responding to treatment.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary pending autopsy.
Arrest
Following the arrest of Adams Adder Almeida, he allegedly admitted to shooting the couple in response to repeated taunting by the deceased that he is lazy- a statement he claimed affected him mentally.
The suspect later led investigators to his brother’s room at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, where a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was retrieved.
Police said the weapon was allegedly concealed beneath the wardrobe of Bala Bilyon, who works with the deceased.
Investigations established that the two brothers reside together in the same room at Tuba.
Adams Adder Almeida also told investigators that the pistol was given to him by his friend, Gideon and led police to Gideon’s residence at Tuba, but he was not found at home.
The police said efforts are ongoing to locate him to assist with investigations.
Meanwhile, Bala Bilyon has also been arrested for interrogation.
