Players Will Have to Work Above Themselves to Earn Playing Time- Ogum

The Head Coach of Asante Kotoko SC, Prosper Narteh Ogum has set his rules and conditions to earn playing time in his team.

The gaffer intends to streamline consistency in his team and thereby his new standard.

Following the porcupine’s 4-1 victory over Visions FC on Sunday, he said a player will have to earn playing time by conforming to the standards of the technical team.

“At the moment, we are trying to have a lot of balance and consistency in the team in terms of team set-up and team organization. We try to make sure that we have the right balance in place for attack, the right place in midfield.”

This, he said should send a strong signal to idle players.

“It’s a strong signal to those who are not starting games now and those who have signed that they need to work above themselves. They need to work above those who are playing now to be able to break into the team. Anything less than that, I wouldn’t permit them with a playing time.”

The aim, he said, is to enhance their performance in the league and cement their place at the top spot.

“In terms of performance, we are trying to make sure we don’t drop the bar. We need to either keep the bar at where it is or we move up.”
