Otto Addo Visits Injured Mohammed Salisu

Black Stars Head Coach, Otto Addo, has paid a visit to Mohammed Salisu in France following the latter’s successful surgery after picking up an injury.

The visit was used to solidarise with the player and lift his spirit, a statement by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) said on January 11, 2025.

“Otto Addo’s visit highlights his commitment to team building and solidarity, following similar visitations to Kwasi Sibo, Ernest Nuamah, and Mohammed Kudus.”

The injury comes as a blow to Ghana as it prepares for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Salisu, as a key member of the Black Stars, featured in eight of Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, scoring two goals.

He suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury in a French Ligue 1 match against Olympique Lyon.

Ghana, in its 5th World Cup appearance, will face Panama, England, and Croatia in the tournament to be held in Mexico, Canada, and the United States.

Ghana’s campaign begins against Panama in Toronto, followed by matches against England and Croatia in Boston and Philadelphia, respectively.
